Working for Liverpool City Council as an apprentice web developer and general content creation guy, has not only helped me develop as a person, but allowed me to enhance my skills in other areas as well. Because I was given a certain freedom to explore and learn, I was able to help LCC with several projects that would have required external assistance from a third party. This not only stopped any unnecessary spending, it actually saved money and kept the work internally which was a big win for everyone.Key Responsibilities:- Assisting front & back-end developers with code and asset changes whenever necessary.- Liaise with clients on certain projects to cover scope and targets of project.- Designing the Intranet Shine system (reward scheme), with fresh no look and templates.- Developing Umbraco 7 project from scratch.- Creating and maintaining the LCC icon font set for internal asset catalogue.- Support customers with govDelivery email templates and functionality.- Created, edited and maintained company training tutorial videos.- Had to learn new software without any instructions or advice, due to previous employee departing without leaving any notes or information on how the system worked. I created new templates for department call centre, to improve visuals and clarity of statistics and call times.

My job was to look after the Magento website, making sure it worked smoothly, as well as updating and adding products to the CMS. Although this was suppose to be a front-end position, it ended up as more of an admin/developer role.Key Responsibilities:- Adding new products to the CMS making sure all fields where accurate.- Setting up the M2E store of selling on eBay directly from the Magento system.- Working on Amazing inventory file templates to control stock and sell via the website.- Creating promotional banners for both website and social media accounts.- Answering calls, answering questions and taking orders via the phone.- Adding website fixes and and changes.

At the time I would work on the Christmas shift which was part-time work, but I attended this for a several years becoming a regular tester. Each year we would test many game titles on different platforms such as: PSP, PS2 & PS3 mainly focusing on multiplayer.Key Responsibilities:- Testing multiple platforms: PSP, PS2 and PS3.- Testing different languages using the EFIGS methodology. Sometimes we would test Russian or Chinese which was more difficult, but could still be very interesting to test on.- Reporting bugs or exploits to team leader using clear written English.- Going through test sheets to make sure certain bugs or exploits had been fixed. If not they would then need reporting on as confirmation.- Keeping work area tidy, as you would sometimes have to sit close to others and work in teams. Each desk would also be used on another shift, so cleaning up was also being respectful of others.- To uphold a certain amount of discretion when working on popular titles. No one likes a blabbermouth.
