The primary objective of the role was to ensure that Oman Airports were in a position to operate, maintain, and manage the new facilities, whilst continuing to provide services at the two current airports. The role had accountability for all Airport IT, Communications, and Infrastructure, and systems being delivered for the new facilities. This involved the development of a Digital Strategy, and new organisation structure that was sub-sequentially implemented as part of a phased change process to enable the new structure, and responsible resources to operate, and maintain, the new systems and infrastructure. Initiated and delivered digital transformation programme across the business to improve passenger experience, generate new revenues and upskill the workforce. Through digital innovation we were able deliver the target to become one of the top 20 airports globally, with the additional aim of achieving a fully data driven and digital airport. Led a team that continually generated new ideas, and prototyped promising technologies to steer adoption/implementation of the most successful cases.

Working as part of the programme office I was involved in the management of the requirements definition, and then into design, testing and commissioning. Once the systems had been accepted my responsibilty moved into the support and transition phase of rolling out the new systems to all locations across the globe where bmi operated. During all of the phases the management of 3rd party supplers was imperative and this also fell within my role.On completeion of the above project I moved into a the role of IT Account Manager. This involved managing the high profile IT accounts of bmi. The tasks included management of service levels, identification of cost efficiencies, and management of requirements to support the ongoing operations and business.
