About Lee Eckhardt

I am a clinical and cellular electrophysiologist with research and clinical work directed toward gaining a better understanding of Inherited Cardiac Arrhythmias occurring in children and young adults. My goals are to advance our understanding of Inherited cardiac arrhythmias and to create medical technological advancements and treatments for Inherited and Acquired arrhythmia syndromes. My research program seeks to understand the genotype-phenotype connections for arrhythmia syndromes through functional genomics. As a life-long athlete, I also have a personal and research interest in the prevention of sudden cardiac death (SCD) and arrhythmia management for athletes. I am proud to assist the UW Madison Sports Medicine group with care of our Badger athletes, professional and elite athletes of all types.
