FounderKg³ (Kgcubed) Dec 2013 - PresentI have established kg³ as an advanced web-based solution for Logistics Procurement. The software manages the full flow of the bid-process, from release of RFQ, through Logistics Service Provider (LSP) completion of rates into a self-validating Excel template, submission of offers (online upload), analysis, feedback, scenario-modelling and award. It is also designed to manage the on-going maintenance of rates during the validity period (fluctuating surcharges, new lanes, etc). The main benefits to the customer are:- significant savings and reduced logistics cost through structured, efficient and transparent bid process- reduction of workload and complexity as the kg³ engine does the hard mathematics and ensures consistency- improved motivation of LSPs to deliver competitive rate based on provision of high-quality feedback With the software now written and tested I am looking for customers. Director Of Global Logistics ContractsCelestica Jan 2011 - Dec 2013RemoteResponsible globally for Logistics Procurement owning the commercial relationship with Logistics Service Providers. Responsibilities included tender-management, negotiation of contracts and rates. Working remotely I managed two direct reports located in the US and Asia. For the period 2011-2013 I doubled the percentage take-down rate vs 2010 and delivered savings of over $13.5 million. I achieved this through a complete overhaul of the bid process, driving increased competition between incumbent providers and opening up the RFQ process to other competitors. The bid process I developed automated a large part of the analysis, enabling accurate apples-to-apples comparison of complex rate structures and massive amounts of data. Through the provision of honest feedback without compromising confidentiality I was able to drive greatly reduced rates. While negotiation on cost delivered hard savings, I built collaborative relationships with our carriers through regular scorecard-review and Quarterly Business Reviews. This approach forms the basis for the model I have developed with kg³. -

My department included 300 full-time employees, roughly 1/5 of the site total, and covered a complex scope of responsibilities. This was a trouble-shooting position following a major crisis in the site in 2005-2006: I had to restructure and motivate the Supply Chain organisation and address major excess inventory, inventory-integrity and planning issues. In the first year (Oct 06 - Sept 07) I reduced inventory from $86m (97.5 days) to below $42.3m (40 days) and resolved inventory integrity issues in the warehouse. I also managed a reduction in headcount by 35% in same period. -
