The Master Gunner is the principle advisor to the commander and staff on aviation weapons employment. The Master Gunner also serves as the gunnery program manager developing training and insuring ammunition, flight training, and land resource management all support ever increasing unit proficiency levels. The master gunner is a weapons and tactics instructor who is qualified as a standardization, an instrument evaluator and instructor pilot.

Standardization Pilots have technical supervision of the unit aviation standardization program as specified by the unit commander. They recommend, developed, and conduct training within aviation units to improve aviator proficiency.As a Standardization Pilot I evaluated Instructor Pilots and Standardization Pilots during all Annual Testing and Proficiency Flight Evaluations including instrument evaluations and NVG evaluations. I trained and evaluated all rated and non-rated crew members as well as other personnel.

The Aviation Safety Officer plans, implements, and coordinates safety and environmental programs in accordance with written regulations, procedures, and policies. They report and investigate aircraft, ground safety, and environmental accidents to determine the cause of the accident and formulate recommendations to help prevent similar mishaps in the future. When needed, perform duties as an active member of an aircraft accident board and coordinate first responder duties during an onsite accident. Also process Occupational Hazard Reports including investigating the hazard and ensuring mitigations are in place.

FAA Certified Control Tower Operator-direct air traffic so it flows smoothly and efficiently. The controllers give pilots taxiing and takeoff instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice based on their own observations and information received from the National Weather Service, air route traffic control en route centers, flight service stations, aircraft pilots, and other sources. They provide separation between landing and departing aircraft, transfer control of aircraft on instrument flights to the en route controllers when the aircraft leave their airspace, and receive control of aircraft on instrument flights coming into their airspace from controllers at adjacent facilities.
