I am energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated with a proven track record of project, event and production management. I have worked in arts and culture for over 20 years, creating a body of work that both enriched the region’s cultural offer and successfully promoted the region’s home-grown artists, bringing music and more to the UK and North East from over 30 countries.Though initially focused on live music/arts events, my work has also included heritage projects; digital production for radio; live streaming and online archive management; exhibitions and installations; artist representation; tour production and management; talks and discussions; graphic design and copy writing. I developed an arts/music event organisation (NO-FI 2001–2011) and renowned international festival brand TUSK (2011–2022) singlehandedly and from the ground up, developing a unique format and reach whilst maintaining a recognisable brand and artistic integrity. With NO-FI I produced 150 live events over a decade, along with 10 annual festivals and much more for TUSK Music.Responding to the lockdown era I turned a planned 2020 festival into a two-week online festival with over 150 hours of original content, reaching over 12,000 unique global viewers.In recent years, the organisations I have worked with or been commissioned by include BBC Radio 3, Newcastle University, Tyne & Wear Archives And Museums, Sound And Music, Supersonic Festival (Birmingham), Sonar (Barcelona), The Sage Gateshead, No Fun Festival (New York), Beaconsfield (London), Tyneside Cinema, Los Angeles Free Music Society, AV Festival, Centre For Contemporary Art (Glasgow), BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Rewire Festival (Den Haag), Culture Lab Newcastle and Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival.I am equally comfortable working solo on projects or as part of a team and am experienced in assembling and managing teams. I have worked successfully with a diverse range of organisations, from local to international, and have received funding, commissions and support from a wide range of bodies.Communication and collaboration are central to my daily work. This ranges from understanding and working to realise the ambitions of artists and organisations I work with to successfully communicating those ambitions to audiences, commissioners, or potential funders.
