After 25+ years in Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, and Sales Management, in 2012 I decided teach. I wanted to share my experience and expertise with a new generation of entrepreneurs. So far I have seen several students start their own business and hope they have learned from what I have shared in the classroom.My students have inspired me to start writing books that can help them in their quest to become entrepreneurs. When teaching Business Plans, my students were stuck on creating financial plans and calculation ratios. The numbers are the most important part of creating a Business Plan, as they are relevant to every section of the plan. I came up with a simple 5-step process that any novice entrepreneur can follow to create financial statements and ratios. My book, The Startup: From Opportunity To Feasibility Study To Business Plan gives a detailed description of this process along with an easy to follow guide to a Feasibility Study, creating financial statements, calculating ratios and ratio analysis, and the importance of creating and maintaining budgets. I have started a series of books for entrepreneurs and they can be found at Amazon.com by searching F. Lee Frye. Most recently I have started the Real Estate program at Franklin County High School. After getting my Virginia Real Estate License and teaming with Mountain to Lake Realty, I will teach Franklin County High School students the required Real Estate course for getting their own real estate license right out of high school.
