Assessing risk of offenders to provide vital advice to judiciary to inform on recommendations for appropriate sentencing.

Within this exciting and fulfilling role I supervise, manage, signpost and advise offfenders decently, safely and securely while carrying out all activities. Assess and manage the risk posed by offenders to encourage and promote desistance whilst protecting victims of crime and the general public. Work with other agencies and groups to prevent reoffending and meet the needs of victims and offenders.

My main task for the above organisation was to provide high levels of care and support in all aspects of daily independent living, specific duties include: providing good quality of health, welfare and well-being of service users and acting in a diplomatic and respectful manner at all times, contributing, developing and implementing service user’s individual care and person centre plans, working flexibly to meet peoples’ support needs, communicating effectively and professionally with all persons in the service user’s life and at all levels, contributing to working as part of a team, working effectively and professionally within the policies and procedures of the organisation.

As a Nutritional Advisor, I have been able to help many people recognise and achieve their nutritional goals. To do this, I have been required to recognise and appreciate the individuality of people; understanding that no two people are the same has enabled me to tailor guidance and advice to the individual. I have advised and educated people to achieve various goals from weight loss to healthier eating and incorporating nutrition into fighting allergies and illness to helping parents encourage their children to eat/try different foods. By implementing the use of face-to-face talking, telephone, email and even social media the role has also helped me to develop my interpersonal and communication skills.

As a Line Leader, I supervised a team of twelve staff. This included monitoring their work to meet production goals, ensuring their safety within the working environment and encouraging and motivating them. I liaised with supervisors, and management to ensure progress and time frame for orders whilst also being responsible for line stations, including labelling, packaging, and palletizing. It was my responsibility to communicate with engineers to rectify any line breakdowns and delegate staff to carry out alternative work whilst lines were out of action.

Primarily I was trained as a Warfare Specialist, being trained in the use of highly advanced equipment. This role trained me to be an essential part of a ships war fighting capability, whether operating a radar position in the Operations Room or manning a weapons position on the upper deck. During Part 1 and Part 2 training I was given the responsibility of Class Leader; this involved being responsible, when not under instruction, for a class of 30 trainees. It was my responsibility to encourage and motivate the class or individual class members through some stressful times. The Royal Navy enabled me to develop skills in communication, leadership and teamwork. I gained decision making skills and the ability to react quickly under pressure under instruction or autonomously whilst maintaining the ability to follow orders and take responsibility for myself and others.
