About Lee Gregory
Social Policy Academic, founding member of Queer Populations and Policies Network, Chair of Trustees for Academics Stand Against Poverty UK. LinkTr.ee: for information on QPaP, ASAP UK, current research projects, LinkedIn and other profiles/info: https://linktr.ee/LeeJGregory Principal research interests include poverty, inequality, LGBTQ+, class, social mobility, meritocracy, welfare theory, asset-based welfare, youth policy, the mixed economy of welfare and alternative forms of welfare provision. I have taught across a range of social policy and sociology topics at UG and PGT level and have supervised several PhD students to completion and currently have 5 PhD students. I have been external examiner for Bath University and Ulster University. Administration roles have included: Examinations Officer and Extenuating Circumstances Officer (with responsibility for reasonable adjustment plans and covering briefly the School Head of EC role), School Head of Quality Assurance (including covering some of the School Head of Education role), Director of Undergraduate Programmes; School lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 2020, School Head of Education, Research Centre Lead and REF Co-ordinator. I was awarded Highly Commended for Educational Innovation for the HEFi Award for Education Enhancement and Innovation 2018/19 and lead the UG programme team which one the Social Policy Association Teaching Excellence award in 2019 and was part of the team which one the same Teaching Excellence award in 2023.
