I run a team of 10 office based staff ranging from Admin staff to senior claims handlers. I oversee work management and cashflow, training, development, process change, target setting, appraisals and audits. I maintain a professional relationship with all of my team and my counterparts, managing upwards where required. I maintain external relationships with service providers such as solicitors for the purposes of attending industry meetings and procuring training assistance. I have researched and prepared responses for a TV research team from Cineflix prior to being interviewed, filmed and then appearing in several series of the BBC's 'Claimed and Shamed' series.

I dealt with a portfolio of predominantly personal injury claims arising from RTAs and EL and PL risks. I handled claims from their inception to settlement including all aspects of general and special damages.

I handled claims arising from retailers warranties, equine insurance claims and pet insurance. I also mentored and helped to develop junior members of the team.

I joined Eagle Star insurance as a school leaver. I learned how to deal with general claims from motor and commercial risks for property damage and personal injury. I developed my skills and knowledge over the 14 years I was there until the office was closed following a merger with Zurich Insurance.
