Responsible for the installation, set-up, and troubleshooting of signal processing equipment for video, telephony, and high-speed data services within the network facility. Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of communication facilities, including: digital, interactive and master facility hubs, in order to maximize performance of video, voice and data networks. Install and activate transmission and reception equipment for video, telephony, and high-speed data within the network facilities in accordance with FCC guidelines and Comcast standards.Perform signal level testing and video quality checks to ensure compliance with FCC guidelines and Comcast standards. Respond to on-demand maintenance issues and perform troubleshooting to resolve system/subscriber problems. Collect, interpret, and generate engineering documentation that includes schematics, fiber management systems, network combining plans and performance analysis reports. Correlate data necessary for FCC reports as well as reliability logs. Perform overnight scheduled maintenance work across the entire headend management needed. Provide Cross-functional support for network upgrade and the deployment of broadband services. Read and understand RF, Optical, and Data signal flow schematics. Set-up, troubleshoot and maintain Video, HSD, Telephony, data systems and VOD systems equipment within the network facility. Knowledge of Video, HSD, Telephony, data systems and VOD systems. Use computer software programs including Visio, Microsoft Word, Exchange and Excel, as well as specific equipment-related software. Thorough understanding of FCC tests. Knowledge of RF theory, to include the HFC network. Understanding of analog and digital signal processing. Operate a spectrum analyzer, DVM, OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Oscilloscope, NTSC video test equipment, MPEG analyzer, QAM meter. Operate addressable controllers and perform data setup. Realign satellite dishes and re-peak LNB/LNA units.
