Dr. Lee Johnson is a native Midwesterner with a rich history of active involvement in public and private postsecondary education. His career includes senior-level administrative positions at Lawrence Technological University and the Medical College of Ohio (now The University of Toledo Medical Center) and his retirement as the Senior Vice President and Treasurer for Siena Heights University (SHU).After retiring, Lee became a Senior Fellow at Core Education, a public benefit corporation that specializes in transformative business solutions. More recently, he became the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for the University of Toledo. Additionally, he serves as an Innovation and Planning Strategist for Mount Marty University. Dr. Johnson earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Minor in Law from The University of Toledo. He was honored with the Richard R. Perry Dissertation of the Year in Higher Education. In 2023, The University of Toledo Judith Herb College of Education recognized Lee as one of its Distinguished Alumni. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration concentrating in Economics from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance from The Ohio State University. He also completed post-graduate education at Harvard University and The Ohio State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio and Michigan Societies of CPAs.
