I was responsible for delivering the category rationale for the repositioning of Carlsberg Pilsner in 2019. By focusing on the key messages, building an insight led rationale and tailoring the story to the audience I was able to inspire internal teams and the trade to get behind the relaunch. The relaunch was a huge success with Carlsberg Pilsner becoming a top ten growth brand. Building Powerful Relationships – Comfortable building relationships at all levels, bringing a collaborative approach and making an effective contribution to achieving common goals. I was able to step change the category relationship with Tesco whilst at BBG, the key to this was learning where I could add value to the Tesco commercial team. By listening, asking questions and understanding the Tesco business I was able to tailor category support and ensure that the internal teams developed plans aligned to Tesco strategy gaining respect and trust. My key learning was that great relationships are built on understanding, communication and trust. Leadership – I am a people first leader, capable of setting a clear vision, driving change and inspiring those around me. When leading the team through COVID I Initially focused on wellbeing, offering reassurance and moving to more frequent communication. I quickly pivoted the teams focus, moving away from longer term strategic work to feeding in immediate insight to customers and internal teams. I was able to maintain the team’s motivation by focusing energy on rebound plans and short-term tactical projects. The team’s contribution during this period has received great recognition from customers and internal teams.
