In September 2022 I was asked to design and implement a new NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma Policing Course. This was the first course of its type in the Essex Region and has been designed as a 2 year program which will result in the student achieving the equivalent of 3 A Levels on completion. The subject content has been specifically targeted for the requirements of UK Police to provide suitable candidates for a career in law enforcement. I have forged stakeholder relationships with the Essex Police who have expressed an interest in signing with the Essex College ensuring their continual corroboration towards this course. At the first sign on for this course there were 27 students for the first year 2022 and in 2023, 36 students have enrolled. It is envisaged that in 2024 the expected course numbers will require an additional 3 classes bringing the total to 5 groups, 2 of second year and 3 of first year students.
