Directly responsible for the coordination of statutory inspections, repairs and maintenance of a diverse range of vehicles with a value of approximately £25m, ensuring that all aspects of repair and maintenance are carried out to an extremely high level, ensuring high vehicle availability at all times and liaising with external repair agencies where necessary. Identifying time wastage in the vehicle inspection process and Implementing and promoting LEAN principles within the workshop giving a 25% saving on time taken during the inspection process. Compiling statistics, producing and presenting concise technical reports and briefings to higher management. Maintenance of 15 personal development records and production of bi-annual performance appraisals for those in my command. Regular input and audits to ISO 9001:2000 of the workshops Engineering Management System resulting in the award of a ‘High’ grading by external auditors.

Manager of the workshop planning and production office in charge of a team of 28 people. Coordination of all second line repairs by an outside repair organisation and daily liaison to ensure that key target dates are met. Collating all accident and damage reports, assigning costs to negligent parties where applicable and where necessary ensuring risk assessments are revised and any remedial action is carried out in order to prevent recurrence.

Responsible for the statutory inspection and production of detailed reports for a large fleet of approximately 200 vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles conform to current legislation and that any required repairs were carried out with minimal disruption to the customer. Updating the workshop IT program and the maintenance of statutory records of all work carried out. Responsible for discipline, working hours and team spirit contributing to high morale and high retention.
