I'm an autistic software engineer with well over a decade of experience contributing to and owning quality in nearly every aspect of software development. My highly monotropic brain craves becoming a subject matter expert in anything I find interesting. I've used this to my advantage, even before understanding it, to quickly engross myself in complex hard and soft systems. I've rarely found my lack of understanding of a specific technology or concept to be a barrier to immediately contributing to technical and overall product quality in any role I've occupied. I've built, managed, and maintained hardware test ranges and the tests and infrastructure as code that run on them. I've built bespoke testing tools in compiled and interpreted languages and written more scripts in more languages than I can remember. I've managed SDETs and helped successfully migrate entire companies and specific projects to AWS, Azure and GCP. I've managed and maintained complex ecosystems of product development and delivery automation. Throughout all of this, I've managed to remain focused on improving my teams' and products' quality. This has meant wearing an inordinate number of hats over the years, while some things have remained the same; I love solving problems, helping those around me, making things better, and learning something new. I want to understand things and contribute to them at every level and I truly enjoy it. I haven't spent much time caring about certifications and degrees but I do learn intensely, really care about Agile principles, and have a deep understand of quality assurance processes from both business and technical perspectives.
