Quite a varied role, but the main areas of responsibility I have are:Working across a number of departments, I am responsible for the smooth running of the aviation department, ensuring all staff are trained and up to date with the current airline products and services. Ensuring ticketing staff are trained on GDS procedures and up to date with airline contracts. Working with airlines directly to ensure that we obtain the best rates, and negotiating group rates when needed. As well as dealing with the , also liase with airports, and governing bodies such as the CAA, ATOL & ABTOT. Monitoring the pick up of cruise stock and identifying where the business needs to focus and drive customers to, working with the marketing department ensuring they are aware of the best deals to promote through direct marketing and to the trade. Identifying distressed stock and analysing the margins to create special offers to drive bookings to this area. Monitoring competitors offers to ensure our offers are always competitive. Working with the yield department preparing the pricing for brochures. Working with the accounts department analysing travelled revenue to create accurate margin data, and provide forward forecasts for future business.
