At Western Irrigation District I am responsible for the development, implementation and managment of the Asset and Maintenance Department. I assist with heavy equipment, heavy truck and trailers fleet, light vehicle fleet, buildings and structures, canals and pipelines infrastructure maintenance. This is a diverse role in which I assist with selection, life cycle planning, reliability and uptime including; preventative and reactive maintenance programs optimization and development.Western Irrigation has been serving the Wheatland and Rockyveiw regions since 1944, but has history reaching back to the 1800’s with the CPR developing the canals and structures that would send valuable water to farmers within our district that have been using that water for decades to produce the food products that have been instrumental in Canada’s agricultural industry as well as exported throughout the world.
