Total Accenture team size was 40+. Practiced Agile for Hardware on a very aggressive schedule.Re-ignited and led the Agile for Hardware group. Developed and practiced Agile for Hardware methodology internally on multiple projects. Trained major global medical device manufacturer on Agile for Hardware principles and practices. Currently looking to scale that effort.Founded and led the Circularity and Sustainability group. Designed product take-back program for an innovative medical device manufacturer. Currently in pilot. Developed and delivered training for the same device manufacturer on circular design principles and concepts for next gen products. Mechanical and Co-Program Lead on new to the world beer dispenser nozzle for a major global beer brand. R&D project to design a beer nozzle for novel beer distribution technology that will disrupt the entire beer market. The work has led to several patents.Mechanical and Co-Program Lead on Drinkworks Home Bar, the “Keurig of Cocktails.” As liaison between the Altitude ID team and client and internal engineering teams, led the effort to realize the design intent of all physical and digital user touchpoints and overall ID appearance. Went to production.Mechanical and Co-Program Lead on Davol hernia mesh deployment system. Developed a mechanical system for highly subjective and constrained arthroscopic surgery. Core member of a small music industry consumer electronics startup involved in all decisions from concept and features, to ID, to debugging manufacturing issues in Asia.Mechanical Co-Lead on electro-mechanical, 24 key portable piano keyboard. Features include: collapsible iPad size keyboard; speed sensing optical switch keys; first ever MIDI-over-bluetooth device to market. 4 total months spent in China over a 1 year period designing and installing manufacturing and test cells, and qualifying parts and final assemblies.

Using primarily Solidworks, I worked as a project lead and/or a lead mechanical engineer, based on a project's technical scope and the customer’s needs. Created and presented proposals to potential clients; led phase-end design reviews; and I led internal training sessions on ME topics including drawing standards, GD&T, FMEA, and tolerance analysis techniques.Senior ME on IDEXX SNAP Pro, an electro-mechanical veterinary diagnostic instrument with aggressive mechanical requirements. The hand-held instrument with touch interface was designed to be fully functional after drop, with consumer product level ID and stringent usability requirements for users with little training. Manufactured by Logic PD, and currently in production.Lead ME on an electro-mechanical medical device for cosmetic surgery. Handheld device, with exacting usability requirements, designed to complement very specific techniques used by plastic surgeons. Tested but never submitted for FDA approval.Lead ME on an electro-mechanical robot for mixing pharmaceuticals. Desktop robot was designed to mix and dilute pharmaceuticals in a clinical environment and do so more accurately than a human user.Lead ME on a medical device for sedation monitoring. Handheld device graphically displayed patients’ EEG readings, and was designed with a complex creepage and clearance approach and difficult drop requirements. Completed Beta prototype testing and FDA submission.Lead ME on PixAds™ handheld gaming device. Consumer product mixes pager and media player capabilities with custom content. Designed to be fully functional after drop, and ingress protection (IP) 54 compliant. Went to production.

Using primarily Pro/Engineer, I worked with senior designers doing layout and detail design of linear and rotary actuators, motors, generators, and the EMI housings for their electronic control. Collaborated with the standards group creating parts and drawings in compliance with MIL standards. Along with the manufacturing engineers, worked to troubleshoot productivity issues in existing designs. Trained new hires in Pro/Engineer and in Honeywell standard drawing practices.

Croll was a small product development startup. I worked on a development test fixture for a biomedicalsurgical instrument and a life cycle test fixture for carbon fiber softball bats.

My projects included a low cost, desktop size DNA reader, as well as a control “pod” for deep sea oilexploration. The control pod was an assembly of stainless steel hydraulic manifolds over 8 feet tall.
