Architected a real-time data streaming solution, and led a team of 5 engineers, to deliver the Department of Labor’s (DOL) foreign labor visa application data to internal divisions and external agencies. The “Datahub” was conceptualized to integrate with the Foreign Labor Application Gateway (FLAG) application, which averaged 11K visitors and 5K submissions daily, and replace existing SQL views and point-to-point APIs that were slow and cumbersome to maintain. • Designed modernized solution using Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spring Boot microservices and Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure to maximize flexibility and support a vast range of potential business needs• Thoughtfully defined the data schemas and Elasticsearch indices to reduce the data retrieval from minutes to sub-second latency• Integrated the Azure API Gateway and Azure Search Service to provide enhanced availability, reliability, and security• Interfaced with USCIS and USDA stakeholders to provide technical integration support and deliver documentation and training to their application developers

The system was composed of web services and scheduled jobs, annually processing 80K system transactions. • Perfect track record of successful, on-time and high-quality technical delivery of all 6 quarterly maintenance releases (~3000 hr. LOE each release) under my technical leadership• Modernized 3 legacy payment modules using PL/SQL and stored procedures to a Spring framework web application which removed the file system dependencies and reduced the processing time of a single filing from 10 seconds to 0.1 seconds• Exhibited technical expertise by developing a custom automated testing framework in Selenium which drastically enhanced our testing procedures and code quality• Demonstrated program leadership as the point-of-contact for a high profile 6-month integration effort with Treasury and Bank of America involving collecting business requirements, delivering technical specifications and coordinating testing activities.
