Lee is a regional Emmy and Murrow award-winning meteorologist at First Coast News in Jacksonville, FL. She came to Jacksonville from WDSU in New Orleans, and before that was at WSFA in Montgomery, AL. Her broadcast career started while in college as a freelance meteorologist for WCJB and an employee of the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network, WRUF and WUFT. Some notable hurricanes Lee has covered include Ida, Idalia, Michael, Irma and Matthew. She has also covered major tornado events like the deadly EF-4 March 3 Lee County, AL, tornado and destructive EF-3 March 22 Arabi, LA tornado.Lee acquired her master’s degree in Geosciences, concentration in Applied Meteorology, from Mississippi State in November of 2020. She graduated from the University of Florida in May of 2018 with a B.S. in Geography and a Certificate in Meteorology and Climatology.Her passion lies in hurricanes and helping communities before, during and after severe weather events.
