Applied the EWP methodology to the development and start up of new robotic case packers in the Pearl tampon business (first machine operated at 97% efficiency during first month of start up). Fulfilled role of Project Manager, Lead Technical Engineer, Shake Down Leader, Delivery Leader and start up support for robotic top loaded cartoners. This project saved over $2MM annually by eliminating the need for contract packing, doubled throughput, delivered less than 1500 ppm defective product with 6 cartoners averaging 96% availability, which is 1% above the target and meeting stretch criteria.

    Responsible for the development of 3 technical engineers. Coached them to lead small initiatives (<$5MM), deliver 30% converter throughput increases and Thick Pad Flexible Global Release Paper Wrapper development. Personally lead the Thick FGRPW Technical Delivery Team for the development of all chassis sizes and package counts for roll out to North America, Latin America and Asia. Completed this on schedule, below budget and with higher speeds than the previous initiative. This saved $6MM in capital avoidance by allowing other regions to move directly to FGRPW platform verses an interim upgrade step. Developed a strategic master plan that would enable the Always pad module to improve productivity from 28 to 90 MSU/person by 2005 (within 5 years). Developed concept and scope that would enable all thick sku’s to be produced on the new Flexible Global platforms, thus enabling the elimination of old technology equipment and still meet the needs of the consumer without impacting global standardization. Lead the America’s Technical Development Team for Breathable Ultra pads. Identified product standardization opportunities (between NA, LA and Asia) and leveraged the roles of team members to drive to a higher level of product standardization, that required fewer delivery resources and allowed shorter roll out schedules. Lead the shakedown of a new global technology platform at a joint venture corporation in Italy, that started behind schedule, and finished ahead of schedule.
