I have grown up by the ocean, surrounded by forests and local woodlands with Dartmoor National Park looming ominously in the distance. My friends and I didn't spend days off school playing video games but rather racing around woods on our bikes and spending hot summer days down the beach. My photography kept me exploring and always looking for more beautiful areas, my mountain biking took me all over the country seeking the rugged natural land. My pets have always led me outdoors no matter what the weather and nowadays my partner and I will spend hours purposefully getting lost in Devon's rural world. I didn't get my educational choices quite right the first time around. Although I've lead a very successful career as a retail manager, experiencing many high points and key moments, instilling in me a huge number of relevant transferrable skills - it's time now to combine my passion for the natural world with my hard working ethos. Approaching the end of an awe-inspiring time of studying for my Environmental Science (BSc) degree, equipped with a wide range of vocational skills as well as volunteering and career-relevant experience; I am now ready to progress an exciting career in Environmental management; with the added bonus of knowing that this is now my passion and life goal as opposed to simply my post-school path.Although I feel I have a well-rounded knowledge base around all areas on Environmental Management, my area of particular interest, driven partly by my horticultural background, lays in carbon capture and storage including the planning and management of trees and woodland areas. My only true value and personal goal is to, when I reach a more mature age in life, know that I have contributed positively to this planet, and left the small areas of the globe that I have frequented in better shape than they were before I had arrived.I hope this bio section has offered you a tiny glimpse of the person I am.
