Sonepar is a large global B2B company with over 100 brands spanning 40 countries, with 45,000 associates and sales of €26.4 billion in 2021. They are currently rolling out their new digital platform to their many brands. I was the designated SME in ecommerce search and this included the following roles.AuditMy first task was to analyse the current implementation and produce a report. This report outlined deficiencies in the current implementation from a technical, business and supplier perspective. It also contained a series of recommendations to address the issues outlined in the report. Architecture Sonepar had chosen Bloomreach Discovery/brSM for ecommerce search and I designed and reviewed solutions in this area. I also attended the Architecture Guild to get visibility of other areas of the platform.DeliveryI improved the brand adoption process around ecommerce search. I was also directly involved in each OpCo adoption to assist with any ecommerce search tasks, queries, risks, and issues.Supplier InterfaceI acted as a bridge between the programme and the supplier to ensure both parties worked efficiently together. I implemented a weekly working committee to improve the communication and to improve the management of issues.SupportI provided support to the production support team so priority production issues were resolved quickly.

National Trust are currently moving onto a new digital platform and my role was to define the delivery architecture. The solution was based on a Single Page Application (SPA) and this was implemented with the Next.js framework. The SPA accessed various API’s for content but was mainly driven by the CMS product brXM(Bloomreach). I was involved in architectural decisions to analyse the options and make a recommendation. I was closely involved in the design/development of the CMS components due to my extensive CMS experience. I was also hands-on with Jira, bitbucket, Jenkins, IntelliJ, Java, Nginx and Bloomreach Cloud.

I was responsible for providing a technical perspective on the product marketing initiatives. I was also responsible for incubating the modernization of Acquia commerce architecture. The product marketing side involved looking at a marketing initiatives and providing technical conceptual diagrams so CTO’s could understand the value proposition. I would also speak to the analysts (Gartner/Forrester) to gain insights through enquiries. This would lead to presentations on the final initiative. In this line of work I gained a deep understanding of the Composable Enterprise and how Packaged Business Capabilities are the future for agile experiences.I was the solution owner on the commerce incubation project and I was responsible for the roadmap and delivery. The high level strategy was to build a Reference Commerce Solution (RCS) that could be used by the System Integrator(SI)s and Acquia professional services. RCS would be a pre-composed solution to drive quicker value proposition. The strategy contained the following three key stages:-• Phase 1 – Build a modern commerce framework, based around a composable architecture, with the Acquia CMS, intelligent search and headless commerce.• Phase 2 – Integrate the Acquia CDP/Personalisation to provide a 360 view on the customer and drive retention and personalisation.• Phase 3 – If the incubation was successful then a product should be formed. I worked closely with Professional services to seek funding and facilitate the delivery of the Reference Commerce Solution (RCS). As the solution owner I attended the daily scrum calls to answer questions and drive the project forward. I also documented the conceptual design to outline how the different components would interact with each other. Since SIs are an important aspect of any large organisation, I worked closely with them so they could provide feedback. This was achieved should through a hackathon to test and provide feedback on RCS.

Bloomreach provides a Digital Experience Platform (DXP) platform called brx and this consists of two core elements and these are brXM(CMS) & brSM(Search & Merchandising with machine learning). At a high level I am involved in the architecture and delivery of these products with Enterprise customers. I am also involved in the pre-sales cycle to help win new deals.

Responsible for technical oversight and governance on a large global digital transformation programme. I also reside on the Technical Approval Board to review/approve major architectural component changes. Due to my vast WCM experience I am heavily involved with the different aspects of Adobe AEM on the project. I performed multiple roles and this included:-• Design, implement and govern a new delivery process with primary supplier(DLBI) and Renault.Design – Series of workshops to define new process. Implement – Manage pilot and rollout. Consultant. I have worked on two major projects;Project - Sutter Health (US) – Digital TransformationSolution/Technical ArchitectProduced and reviewed high level designs for various capabilities on the platform. For example I produced the workflow design to allow the business to publish content. Contribute to architecture forum to address any queries. Review requirements and scope that feed into the project plan.Developer/ Environment configurationDeveloped TeamSite components in Java/XSL/HTML/JavaScript. Documenting the complex technical aspects that we have delivered so the client can maintain after the engagement. Installing and configuring the platform software on the authoring and runtime environments. Project Manager/ Scrum MasterAccountable for the delivery of parallel phases. Produce and maintain project plans in MS Project to allocate resources. Manage the low level task delivery in Jira to track development and bugs. Lead daily scrum calls with the developers and business stakeholders to discuss progress and blockers. Interface with IS/business management to discuss project Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions.Project - Lloyds Banking Group - Digital SignageDeveloperI was involved in the design and development of extensions to the project. For example I had to design and develop a workflow to move the assets, relating to a digital sign creation, from one environment to another.

I was assigned to a large nutritional company as a technical project manager to manage the implementation of the EU FIC regulation. On the technical side I analysed the TeamSite implementation and the surrounding processes. To ensure the regulation was met I identified and analysed all the channels that were impacted by the regulation. The channels ranged from online to telephony and call centres. I then worked with the appropriate departments to define the treatments. This was a complex project as it impacted all the countries in the EU and the company’s development team was based in Los Angeles.The client was using TeamSite and MediaBin.

I worked in the Web Content Management (WCM) division and was assigned to a major account. The client had gone through a management restructure and I submitted a proposal for the new team. I performed multiple roles and this included:-• Project Management – Producing and reviewing plans for delivery.• Solution Architect – Creating and reviewing Solution Architecture documents.• Resource Management – Daily huddles and resource management. • Technical Tasks – Such as rebuilding the development data (TeamSite/Database) The solution utilised TeamSite and MediaBin from a content management perspective. LiveSite was used on the front end for content delivery.

My primary role was as a solution Architect and I was responsible for architecting the new web platform. This was a challenging role as the current platform had very little documentation and a large amount of technical debt. I was responsible for defining the platform capabilities and ensuring that the current and future requirements could be met. There was also a dependency on the parent company Standard Life as they owned the current platform. Due to this dependency I also worked on the Standard Life project to align the capabilities and ensure both projects were successful. I executed three sprints and acted as technical lead to clearly define the capabilities. My role included the following duties:- • Create solution architecture document• Planning – Waterfall and iterative.• Define capabilities on the new platform.• Requirements gathering• Working with the BA’s to define the requirements• Work with integration partner and define migration strategy and costing model• Technical lead/Scrum Lead to assist Standard Life• Presenting to the Steering Committee

I was responsible for architecting and planning the delivery of the TeamSite upgrade. This involved ensuring the current intranet sites would continue to function on the new version. I was then moved onto the banks major digital transformation project. This involved integrating TeamSite with IBM websphere WCM. I was responsible for the CMS architecture, development and delivery. There was a series of releases to support more brands and my role changed from architect/developer to team lead/architect.In 2012, the project team was merged into the banks’ main development division. This division was then responsible for the secure and public web sites. My role changed to architect/roadmap for CMS. I reviewed the high level CMS designs for the public and secure sites to ensure they aligned with the strategic roadmap. I was also involved in major technical changes, such as architecting multi-variant testing and mobile native applications.My role included the following duties:-• Development• Architecture – Low and High level• Requirement gathering• Planning – Waterfall and iterative.• Estimation – High and low level• Documentation• Process definition and improvement• Team Lead – Resource management and Recruitment • Release management • Strategy definition

I was part of the development team and worked with the solution architect to implement various solutions. My first project involved creating a scheduled process to ingest content into TeamSite. This content was further refined by the editors and published to the website. My other major project was to architect and develop the CMS to support the revamped website. This involved integration with a content portal, Media-bin and TeamSite.

Hilton were enhancing the CMS on an ongoing basis and my role was to assist in architecture design and monitor support issues.

Virgin Mobile (VM) were completely replacing their existing web site architecture and I was employed as CMS Stream Lead to architect Interwoven TeamSite and manage the CMS team. The CMS integration was complex as the CMS integrated with the web application and backend components. One of the interesting aspects of this project was learning more about Java services, as the CMS provided the data for the transactions to complete. CMS was not only responsible for managing the content but also used to deploy the application. My first task was to understand the VM environment by speaking to the various departments, through meetings and workshops. Once I had analysed the different touch points I created a High Level Design and project plan. The CMS team comprised of three other developers who implemented the CMS design. I was also responsible for mentoring one of the team as he was VM employee. Throughout the development I would assist the team with development and technical issues. To ensure VM could manage TeamSite at the end of the project I recommended an operational team and transition plan.

My main role was to design and build a TeamSite Framework to allow the business to manage the web content without interacting with IT. The principles of the Framework are to facilitate ease-of-use, re-usability, content aggregation, personalisation and content expiry. The Framework is currently rolled out to manage six websites and will eventually be utilised globally.

I was employed as a Senior Technical Consultant for a leading content management company and I worked on over 30 projects around Europe. My main roles included architecture design, application server integration and pre-sales. Architecture design often included running workshops to gather requirements and assisting the project manager with estimated time scales. I also worked with the pre-sales team on ‘Request For Proposal’ (RFP) to design mini solutions and explain how TeamSite would meet the customers requirements. As technical lead I had to design the TeamSite components and on larger projects lead small teams. I have worked with many large companies and have had experience in different market sectors ranging from investments to media. In the three years I learnt a valuable lesson in website development. They are not isolated solutions as they often interface with other parts of the business using varying technologies.

I was employed as a Senior Analyst Developer for a reinsurance company in London. My roles included analysis of new projects, development and mentoring. I was originally employed as an Analyst Programmer and my primary role was to develop and support MS Access applications, some of which link into MS SQL server. Two of my major projects included processing transaction information for the New York Insurance Department and developing a web based data library using HTML and Infoseek. I also received a recognition award and bonus for my work on the NYID project. My other roles included Visual Basic maintenance and general database support (Access & SQL server).

I was employed as an Analyst Programmer at a small software consultancy firm. Leading a team of three programmers I was responsible for designing and building Access 2/ 97 solutions for a wide variety of clients, particularly in the financial services sector. I also configured and supported NT4, proxy server and Exchange.

I was employed by ICL as an IT Specialist working in the PC-Desktop division. Through ICL I worked for many companies of which some are listed below: -• Chase Manhattan Bank: My first major project was to develop an asset tracking system for Chase Manhattan Bank. This involved designing and building a SQL server database with an Access 2 front end. I also had to build and configure the NT4 server.• BT: My second project, working with a large team, involved upgrading computers from Windows 3.X to Windows 95.• BBC: My main role was database development in Access 2/ 97 and cold fusion in the beeb department. Cold fusion is a product that allows the integration of databases to HTML web pages. I built many internal databases and also designed the Marketing Accounts Database. My last project was to help design and implement a help system for the Internet site using Access, HTML, Cold Fusion and Netscape mail server. My experience was also used in supporting the Internet Site (UNIX), NT4 servers, SQL server and desktops.
