Reporting to the Country MD of this company that provides software and hardware solutions for complex supply chains, I work with European sales teams to define and improve product to ensure it exceeds customer needs and enhances customer supply chain performance. Here, I collaborate with multi-sector customers to gain understanding of their supply chain, gather requirements and translate these insights into a supply chain solution with pin-sharp focus on delivering high-performance UI / UX. Gaining an in-depth understanding of each customer’s supply chain, I identify underperformance, weaknesses and blind spots within customer supply chains and then crafting bespoke solution that manages entire supply chain network, suppliers and logistic functions. I then partner with our Madrid-based software team to ensure all solutions futureproof client needs and can evolve with each customer’s changing requirements.

In this role, I led M&S’ largest supply chain project for over 20 years, overhauling outdated movement of fresh food from the supply base, through consolidation centres and into the RDC network. Here, I introduced new technology and processes across 15 M&S distribution sites, replacing 20 year-old legacy processes as well as creating new processes and systems for 160+ key suppliers. Ensuring effective programme delivery, I performed programme-level budgetary planning, stakeholder engagement frameworks, articulation of approach and progress tracking processes. Here, I created milestone-led project roadmaps, including resource allocation, budgetary planning, and kick-off. I also collaborated with Project Managers, Regional and supplier leads and their teams to ensure delivery of strategy and effective governance, successfully overcoming objections from change-resistant stakeholders to ensure this change project was brought in on time.Leading vendor review and selection, I outlined the requirement and negotiated service levels, successfully I translated requirements to ensure appointed vendors delivered to specification. Here, I monitored vendor performance throughout the product development life-cycle from initial development through to UAT phase, troubleshooting and solution delivery. Then using various multiple measurement tools, I ensured effective tracking of new Supply Chain infrastructure and driving performance improvements through continuous optimisation.

Tasked with overseeing the management of a £3Bn of Fresh Food supply chain network, I led a 7-strong team of Supply Chain Planners to maximise supply chain performance across protein, food on the move and prepared meals / dessert categories for 4000 products across 160 supplier sites. Here, I championed increased revenues and profitability as a Continuous Improvement coach, including delivering group-wide initiative to simplify ways of working, improve productivity and generate cash savings, securing a £5.6M increase in profits and a £4.2M increase in sales.Performing exhaustive review of the market landscape, I identified and anticipated possible demand uncertainties and supply constraints. Here, I led transformational activities ensuring team adopted new ways of working with more challenging KPIs while driving self-authored global supply / demand plans to support mid / long-term business objectives. I also introduced new operational supply chain processes into the team, including overhaul of Suppler Delivery Accuracy reporting at all levels as well as making Supply Chain Planner processes more aligned with the Central Registry. This included facilitating improved supplier compliance through delivery of best practice workshops and guides. Following these successes, I further professionalised supply chains across the business as Supply Chain Lead for Future Supply Chain Vision programme spearheading positive change across three core workstreams.Recognised by senior management for successes in leading large-scale supply chains, I was asked to oversee several key projects. This included being appointed as a key member of Olympic Response Team, successfully ensuring business-as-usual and maximum product availability to minimise the negative impact of any disruption caused by the Olympics.

Brought into Supply Chain team, I successfully oversaw a £40M weekly stock budget for Merchant group, with direct feeds into the Wickes retail operation. Here, I led supply chain operations across 4 out of 5 major product groups within central distribution network totalling 16,000 SKUS across 250 suppliers. I also introduced multiple new initiatives across each supply chain, including shaping and delivering new stock sharing, common sourcing and global sourcing strategies. Committed to ensuring professional development across the team, I identified and coached talent to ensure potential successors and secure healthy leadership pipelines. I was also appointed as the Team leader for 2 BSS Integration projects for Product Supply as well as Product Supply representative for Group Centralisation Programme. Here, I optimised the entire supply chain system, ensuring availability of goods and inventory across my allocated categories to deliver year-on-year increases in overall and mandated availability for both volume and range.

Played an integral role to ensure delivery of smooth supply chains through effective merchandising planning for Infant Boy, Girl and Sleepwear departments across Europe (£20M budget). Here, I delivered a 10% increase in Sleepwear sales through creative merchandising planning with no increase in inventory. I also led a comprehensive review of receipt tracking process for the entire Kids and Baby department, identifying areas for improvement and leading programmes of change to improve tracking processes as well as training and mentoring a Merchandise Planning Assistant.

Brought into the team to oversee Snacks and Drinks categories, which contributed 40% to confectionery category sales, I championed increases in performance through introducing a new supplier performance management system. I initially rolled this out across the team but due to its success, I was asked to roll this out across the entire business unit. Here, I reduced inventory by £500K with no decrease in availability followed by being tasked with leading company-wide availability project for the whole company. As a result, I was recognised by management for these successes and awarded increased responsibility for Newspaper, Sandwiches and Children’s Drink categories.

Promoted from my previous role, I oversaw a new team tasked with identifying potential ‘Direct to Store’ supply opportunities and possibilities for DC centralization. Here, I led a £13M centralisation project migrating suppliers into Tesco DC with no disruption to store trading or DC operations. I also improved hardware availability by 20% in 6 months and accelerated processes to move stock to global sourcing suppliers.
