As the Operations Director, I oversee and mentor employees in company operations, health and safety, and project delivery, ensuring smooth execution of daily activities while aligning with the RIBA stages of design and adhering to the Building Safety Act 2022 and PAS 8671 & 8672. My role includes drafting and implementing company policies and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. I address challenges related to risk management, compliance, and quality to ensure seamless alignment with both company and client project objectives. Additionally, I support the Managing Directors in managing, supervising, and executing all aspects of project engineering, design, and construction for clients' new construction, landscaping, and renovation projects across various sectors, including automotive, commercial, education, rail, and hospitality. I also play a key role in supporting the tendering process, including preparing and reviewing bids to secure new projects.

My projects range from £0.3m to £3m and spanned 3 months to 2 years, within framework contracts across various market sectors, including CPNI-accredited secure structures with advanced physical security measures. Current clients include Manufacturing Technology Centre, Rolls Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, and Bombardier. As an Electrical Project Manager for SPIE UK at the Rolls-Royce Aero Engine facilities in Derby, I oversaw multiple projects ranging from £50k to £5m and spanning 6 months to 3 years. These Intermediate Infrastructure Projects encompass all elements of Civil and M&E Engineering and are managed under the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Framework, Option C - Target Contract with Activity Schedule. My key responsibilities included:• Managing three to four live projects from feasibility through to construction and completion.• Collaborating with the estimating team and subcontractors during the project estimation phase.• Coordinating with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor to identify project opportunities and risks.• Handling financial management and cost forecasting.• Defining and estimating project variations based on the client's Statement of Need.• Liaising with clients, design teams, and major stakeholders for each project.• Overseeing construction management, including HS&E aspects, while minimising disruption to Rolls-Royce's manufacturing facilities.• Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.• Managing the handover process to the Facilities Management service provider, including developing O&M manuals and the Health & Safety File.

Appointed the Project/Programme Director for the drawdown of all UK infrastructure within Kandahar Airfield. Tasked to identify all UK Land Parcels (Projects) and associated assets in order to produce and refining the requirement in consultation with all Stakeholders. Whilst refining the overall requirement I managed the drafting of Tender and Contract documentation to facilitate the final programmed redeployment, refurbishment or demolition of UK infrastructure. Delegated a budget of £1 million and responsible to managed the Programme and related Projects up to the final closure and withdraw of all UK Combat Troop from Afghanistan. Apart from the standard programme and project management procedures, my responsibilities also included the following:• Identifying all UK Land Parcels (Projects) and Assets to enable the production of the drawdown programme with multiple stakeholders.• Implementing all Land Quality Assessments before and after each land parcel was closed and handed back of all former UK Land Parcels to Train Advise Assist Commanded (South), which came under NATO.• Production of all rough order of costs, including three-point estimating and financial risk.• Drafting the Investment Appraisals, Tender and Contract Documentation.• The continued evaluation of the Programme Risks and Programme schedule.• Predicting, scrutinising and tracking the individual Project funds within the £1 Million Programme budget.• Acting as the Local Commercial Officer under the scrutiny and direction of the Commercial Officer in Kabul.• Production, awarding and monitoring of all Contract Variation Orders.• Responsible the Configuration Management and Change Control Procedure, including Contract, Programme and Project Documentation.

Appointed as Deputy Project Director and Team Warrant Officer for the redeployment, refurbishment or demolition of all UK infrastructure. As the only regular soldier within a newly formed team of Royal Engineer Reservists, I was also responsible for the day monitoring, mentoring, administration and management of the Programme Team and Project Managers.Camp Bastion was divided into over 150 Projects (UK Land Parcels) and treated a Programme due to the complexity of Stakeholders, Clients, Timelines and Business-as-Usual (Military Operations) during an ongoing military campaign. The single point of contract for Military Project Governance and Contract knowledge for individual team members, which including the programme manager. Apart from the standard programme and project management procedures, my responsibilities also included:• Producing a full statement of requirement for new works in consultation with the stakeholders.• Production of all rough order of costs, including three-point estimating (NPV) and financial risk.• Conducted any Infrastructure Operational Option Studies and Investment Appraisals, as required.• The continued evaluation of the Programme Risk Register and Programme Gantt Chart.• Predicting and Tracking Project finances cross five funding lines totalling above £12 million, as agreed for the entire programme.• Production, awarding and monitoring of all Contract Variation Orders.• Responsible for Configuration Management and Change Control Procedures, including Contract Documentation.• Project Management for all existing and additional works outside the programme.

Selected and trained to conduct an ISO-9001 Audit of the Infrastructure Service Provide (ISP) KBR and the Authorities performance. This second line audit includes a review of the existing Quality Management System, Processes and Procedures of both the ISP and Military Facilities Management Department. Responsible for interviewing key management personalities, review documents and evidence, and back briefed the findings. These tactfully back-briefs highlighted areas of weakness as well as good practice, while endorsing ISP proposed continual improvement strategies. I was also heavily involved in the drafting of the Audit Report for the Military Commercial Office for their review.

Trained and deployed as the Site Facilities Manager for a Main Operation Base in Lashkar Gar, Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Main roles and responsibilities included Military Liaison to the Infrastructure Service Provide (ISP) KBR while monitoring, auditing the ISP while also provided the first filter and expectation management for any new discrete works. During the deployment I was responsible for the review and redraft of the asset register and maintenance schedules, which had been poorly updated over the last 5 years. A lot of my time was also spend dealing will a historic power generation issue that hindered the site at peak demand in the summer months and during routine maintenance. After a thorough investigation of these issues I produced a designed and project managed the construction of an additional generator farm, which rectified the problem. This solution was produced with minimal funding and utilised a lot of existing equipment within a constricted site. The resolution alleviated the demand on the main generation farm and provides a large amount of redundancy to cope with the increase A/C power demand during the summer months.

As a Discrete Works Project Manager (Electrical) I was responsible for identifying and costing of all electrical works and managing the delivery of new works by the Lump Sum Maintenance Contractor, Measured Term Contractor and any Contracts awarded under Tender. This work involves the liaison between Works Management Flight, the Client and Contractors, which includes the coordination of Health & Safety on site. Responsible for the Safe Systems of Work as the appoint Authorised Person, including HV & LV Electrical Systems, Hazardous Area Electrical, Standby Systems and Aeronautical Ground Lighting. Additional responsibilities include conducting planned audits of all works, work orders, scheduled maintenance, inspections, health & safety produces and quality management system as required by the Officer Commanding.

Deployed to undertaken a survey of the HV/LV earthing arrangements at all Ministry of Defence owned substation on the Rock of Gibraltar as the Clerk of Works (Electrical) in 528 STRE (Power). During the power survey the following responsibilities were undertaken:a. To gain assess to all substation under an Authority of Assess permit to carry out survey.b. Identify existing earthing arrangement and highlight any shortfalls.c. Determine the reason for the shortfalls and make the recommendations to rectify the problems.d. Produce an Option Study to establish the optimum solution to upgrade the existing power infrastructure.e. Produce a report of findings.

I deployed on two Power Surveys in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of 528 Specialist Team Royal Engineers (Power) as the Senior Design Engineer (Electrical). During the Power Surveys, my responsibilities were to review the current power capacity of both Multi-National Bases and highlight any issues, particularly for the summer months. To translate the data from the power analysers to build a picture of the current power demand and predict a maximum demand within the height of summer. Also, conduct a feasibility study for the installation of an HV generation, transmission and distribution system. This work resulted in my involvement and part author of 2 Power Survey Reports as well as a report studying the feasibility for the installation of HV power generation, transmission, and distribution Network within Camp Bastion, Afghanistan.

I was responsible for the design and installation of the electrical element of enabling works required to accommodate 6 Tornado Aircraft in an Airfield overseas. These enabling works included lightning protection designs for an explosive storage area and a weapons preparation area, as well as an aircraft earthing design. Additional responsibilities included the construction supervision of an engine test pad, which included quality control, and testing of each concrete pour.

Deployed as the Royal Engineers Works Liaison Officer (REWLO) for Seeb Military Air Base, Muscat, Oman. My duties included providing technical advice all mechanical, electrical and civil engineering works, the supervision of the O&M Contractor and all subcontractors working within the Air Base. Additional responsibilities included maintenance and prioritisation of any new projects, costing any proposed works, draughting of contract documentation, tendering, letting and supervision of contracts while liaising with the Oman Military, Base Commander, Property Manager, and Authorised Engineer.

As the Royal Engineers Works Liaison Officer (REWLO) at a Military Air Base, in Thumrait, Oman. My duties included the design and installation of various aircraft enabling works for a Multi-Nation Exercise. The enabling works included the design, construction and Monitoring and control of two types of aircraft earthing and the supervision of £120,000 of mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering maintenance works. My responsibilities also included the re-activation, testing and operation of all services, coordination of the day-to-day maintenance and de-activation of the Tier 2 accommodation and facilities used during of a Multi-Nation Air Exercise.
