I contributed to the success of this major national, Fortune 100 food producer by performing material planning and purchasing efforts that resulted in increasing profitability and cost savings. My success during this time was based on my strengths for applying resourcefulness and industry expertise to continually evaluate materials and procedures to ensure cost-effective production at optimum levels. Some of my most significant accomplishments included: • Purchased $15+ million annually in raw materials and packaging products (300 SKU's from 40 vendors). • Monitored production requirements utilizing MRP. Maintained minimum inventory levels to achieve monthly raw material turns of 1.5 times per month and packaging turns of .8 times per month. • Reduced annual labor and materials costs $104,500 by directing vendor design of packaging that reduced labor and handling requirements. • Saved $96,900 annually by locating new supplier of bacon bits, which also resulted in increased food quality and reduced fat content. • Generated annual savings of $780,000 by negotiating purchasing agreement with dairy supplier; achievements resulted in two other company sites successfully negotiating new agreements. • Served as key member on vendor certification partnership teams, which have been instrumental in reducing cost of packaging supplies by more than $750,000 over a two year period.

I was initially hired with responsibility for managing distribution of all raw materials and finished products from point of receipt to point of sale. I supervised a three-shift operation consisting of 10 warehouse operators and 3 data entry associates and held additional accountability for maintaining inventory exceeding $1 million.

I coordinated shipments to Europe, Russia and the Middle East, that involved maintaining detailed knowledge of country requirements and international documentation. Established pricing for all accounts of the Atlantic Division. Maintained and developed selective customer base to meet/exceed volume and revenue objectives. Worked as an active participant on Continuous Improvement Teams.
