His legal knowledge and advice is as good as I have experienced."I have many years’ experience of providing pragmatic advice to well-known businesses to assist them with human resources / employee relation issues, change management programmes and strategic projects, and Employment Tribunal litigation (often appearing on behalf of the business at the hearing). Over time, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of three industries: residential care; logistics and warehousing; and retail. I also advise and support senior executives with issues affecting their career development, Board relationships, grievances, and their departures from their roles. Recently, I have advised:- on the consequences of a pay-rise outside of the collective agreement to a unionised logistics workforce and the subsequent relationship with the trade unions and their allegations of a Kostal inducement; - a care home provider on the dismissal of a residential care home manager due to professional and statutory failings in the home and a CQC intervention;- a senior executive of a global bank on the bank's proposal to change their role and their subsequent grievance;- on changing the terms and conditions of warehouse staff and the subsequent trade union discussions; - on the non-payment of a staff annual bonus by a high street retailer and the successful defence of the subsequent £2.5m claim for its payment;- a Managing Director on the allegations they faced before negotiating an agreed departure with a substantial financial package;- on site closures and/or overseas outsourcing and the related redundancy exercises; and- the TUPE aspects of in- and out-sourcing, intra-group transfers and, and the disposal of business segments.I am the co-organiser of regular networking events for members of the business community (business-owners, MDs, FDs or senior executives) who share an interest in cycling - the Manchester Cycling Network.
