This whole community thing only works if we talk to each other.I’ve had the pleasure of spending 20 years working in strategy, digital, and content across publisher, brand and agency. From starting out a music journalist and selling PR strategies to unsigned bands via MySpace, I have spent the last 15 years in agency where I have led award-winning teams and campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world. Lucky doesn’t even cover it. Today I am now UK strategy lead at Manifest Group - a unified brand communications agency for brands who want to change the world. I am also a passionate voice for the positive impacts of digital in culture and using my own working class background to champion the opening up of our industry to let more talent from diverse backgrounds in. In that mission I have worked with Channel 4, Ideas Foundation, and Common People as well as co-founded SocialNorth, my own speaker and networking event series for today’s and tomorrow’s marketing talent in the North of England. I am a regular on the speaker circuit having spoke on topics such as brand strategy, brand purpose, data storytelling, community building, creativity, and more across the UK and Europe. I have also written about social mobility and access to industry for working class groups as part of my everlasting commitment to giving back to an industry that gave me a chance and a career.
