About Lee Blaylock

I'm the founder or co-founder of 4x software and 1x Registered Investment Advisory businesses. Starting my career at Dell (badge #244) for 7 years mostly in R&D, I was their 2nd ex-pat and worked 2 years in UK & Germany. After 2 years at Dallas Semiconductor (Now Maxim) growing a software VAR business from 0 to $30mm, I then went to Oracle, where I left as a Practice Director in the high technology manufacturing consulting group. The first company I started, ServiceLane, was funded by Austin Ventures, Fremont Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank and sold to Owens Corning (NYSE: OC). I originated the idea and co-founded Annandale Capital with 2 other partners. Annandale is now a Financial Times Top 300 Registered Investment Advisory firm managing > $1.2b AUM in institutional and private client assets. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and was named by D Magazine as a Top 20 Internet Entrepreneur. I've been married for 34 years and very proud father of 3. A major foodie, in part from my travels to 32 countries and also living in 3. An avid golfer having played golf in 16 of those 32 and a Golfweek Rater.     I was very fortunate to work for Dell in its early days (badge #244), starting when I was 22. I started with them when I was still in college and before they were public. Starting out in sales, I was promoted to be the product manager for all peripherals (do you remember math coprocessors, optional modems, the Bernoulli box or the transition from 5 1/4 to 3 1/2" floppy disks?) before graduation from the University of Texas. 6 Months later and 6 weeks after I was married, I was offered the job of Product Manager in Germany. As Dell's 2nd Ex-Pat, I spent 1991-1993 in Germany eventually becoming the Marketing Manager for Central Europe. We opened the Swiss and Austrian offices while I was there.I returned to Dell Austin in Jan of 93 as a Program Manager in the R&D group for the Dimension line of PCs. I really enjoyed my time at Dell, made a lot a friends, some good money and learned many lessons, but I wanted to get into the software business as that is where my passion lies.
