In April this year I will celebrate five years with Royal LePage Pro Alliance Realty in Northumberland. The past five years have been very busy and I was extremely pleased to be awarded the President’s Gold Sales Achievement award in my first year and the prized Diamond Award from Royal Lepage in 2012, 2013, 2014 and again in 2015. 2015 was a great year, as I have also received news that I am of the top three in sales out of the 359 salespeople in Royal LePage ProAlliance Realty, Brokerage.I have always had a tremendous passion for Real Estate, having previously restored and redeveloped a number of historic properties. Quality and appropriate design have always been part of my mantra, whether for a restoration or a new build. That work was rewarded with national coverage in publications such as Canadian House and Home, Chatelaine, Century Home, Renew, Elm Street, The Toronto Star, and the Globe and Mail. My current home, a classic Ontario cottage, which my partner and I restored and extended with an addition was featured in the New York Times. Growing up in Port Hope, amongst a diverse selection of heritage buildings, led to an interest in architecture and design. For over 25 years, I have been affiliated with the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario, Port Hope Branch, and have co-chaired the ACO’s Port Hope House Tour, which raises considerable funds to aid in the restoration of structures in the immediate area. My past as an antiques dealer brought me to work with CBC’s The Canadian Antiques Roadshow, an experience which took me from coast to coast over the entire four seasons of the show’s run. That experience taught me to listen for the story and to sell it, in turn, to the producers.
