Additionally, I was the fundraising chairmen from 1990-1992 for a loosely run group called IPA Pilots for Kids. In the first year we raised $1,600 to throw a Christmas party for sick children in the hospital. In 1992, I founded and chaired the IPA Foundation from its beginning. The IPA Foundation is a non-profit organization that has raised almost $9M to date for children’s charities, including the Home of the Innocents, Ronald McDonald House, Kosair Children’s Hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital Foundation, Indian Summer Camp, and the Juvenile Walk for Diabetes. I remained as Chairman until 1999 with I became the Chairman EmeritusSelected Accomplishments:⇨ I was the Committee Chairman that was tasked with rewriting our constitution, bi-laws, and governance model ⇨ As the Government and Legislative Affairs Chairman, I built relationships with key congressional leaders and senior leadership with groups such as the FAA, NTSB, DHS, and DoT to help move our agenda forward and influence public policy making⇨ As the Security Committee Chairman, I worked with CAPA as a member of the 9/11 Task Force⇨ I was instrumental in ensuring that the Airline Safety Act of 2010 was implemented in the way it was intended and the desired results were being achieved⇨ I provided strategic direction and leadership for professional pilots with issues on Capitol Hill through both the Legislative and Executive branches⇨ Chairman and Executive Director for numerous groups, including Airline Flight Operations, Airline Safety and Security, Professional Standards Group, and Airline Training
