Advised a case load of students for a 140-person federal grant program aimed at increasing the retention, persistence, and graduation rates of targeted populations at a 4-year, private institution through scheduled monthly meetings, proactive outreach, and communication, and responding to questions, concerns and needs. Maintained confidential records including student files, disciplinary actions, and daily activities. Demonstrated competence in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.Program Creation:Facilitated, and presented workshops that assisted students in their academic, professional, social, and cultural development as a student. Created programming/presentations in the following areas: Test- taking, Note-taking, Time Management, Professional Development, Tutoring/Academic Support, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Graduate School Preparation, and Financial Literacy Development.Advising:Experience working with students from underrepresented and marginalized groups in a high-stressed, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment of development and growth. Held 1:1 monthly meeting with students to discuss course load/grades in addition to physical, mental, and emotional health status. Encouraged students to create solution-oriented goals to face any academic/life challenges. Referred students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborated with others to monitor and accelerate the academic progress of the students referred.
