In 2013 I moved within the publishing group to become editor at Hi-Fi Choice magazine. I currently oversee a team of 15 freelance journalist contributors and two full-time editorial employees to deliver 13 print issues a year and online magazine version. I have sole responsibility for the editorial strategy of this specialist title to meet the needs of the magazine’s passionate and informed audience, commissioning on brand content and overseeing the day-to-day workflow and production processes to achieve a 132-page publication to a four-week schedule within pressurised budget constraints. As the magazine’s editorial content lead, I write for each issue and am responsible for the magazine’s online content, where I have successfully increased its global audience reach. I collaborate closely with the publishing group’s sister titles, advertising team and stakeholders and build and maintain relationships as a brand ambassador. Under my leadership, the title has maintained steady sales in the challenging hobbyist publishing sector, and I am responsible for the launch and growth of the magazine’s social media audience via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

As editor of What Satellite & Digital TV magazine I successfully grew the international readership by launching an online version and collaborated with the advertising team to secure the title’s financial stability.

As a self-employed consultant for the UK’s leading consumer electronics product performance testing house based in Milton Keynes, I carried out technical and subjective evaluations on a wide range of audio visual (AV) products. With my substantial experience in the consumer electronics industry, one of my specialties was providing subjective evaluation on a wide range of consumer products including TVs, set-top boxes, DAB radios and mobile phones as music players. The findings were published in the consumer subscription title Which? magazine or formed a key part of product development commissioned by manufacturing clients and Governmental bodies. Supported by a technical background in product testing, this work relies on my keen subjective skills which I have naturally developed as a passionate hi-fi and AV enthusiast for over 25 years.
