At the Asian Culture Center I work one on one with foreign students and adults to help them with any problem they may run into in regards to language and cultural barriers. • Editing papers allows me to help the students work on their english writing skills and correct any syntax or diction errors so that they can receive the best possible grade for their work. • Practicing conversational skills with the tutees gives them the chance to speak at a pace of their choosing. Also this gives me the chance to make corrections and give an explanation so that they understand what they might be doing wrong and become more fluent conversationalists. • Answering questions about unfamiliar concepts or slang terminology allows the tutee to feel more comfortable and clears up any confusion they might have.

At Beautiful Beads I would work three to five hour shifts during which I was the only person running the store. I had a variety of responsibilities that ranged from helping the customers to browse the inventory to marketing the jewelry and promoting the store on Twitter and Facebook. • Marketing the jewelry and promoting the store meant taking pictures of the new inventory and posting them on Facebook and Twitter as well as publicizing new sales or special events helped to bring in a great number of new or existing customers.• Helping the customers to find their perfect piece of jewelry meant juggling anywhere from one to five customers at once while making sure that each person could leave the store satisfied with their purchase. • Organizing and cleaning the store was essential for ensuring that each piece was visible and could be easily accessed so that the customer would have the best possible shopping experience.
