Many skills were utilized in this role. Communication, an understanding and application of financial and budgetary concerns for the betterment of the organization, and the need to listen to the opinions of others and apply their recommendations and criticisms in a way that benefits the entire organization were essential to the role. There were many, more specific skills needed to achieve each of the above including the use of software such as the Microsoft Office Suite and equivalent, collaborative services offered by Google. Excel and Google Sheets were the primary tools used in this role. Additionally, the Treasurer also serves on the executive committee which required constant collaboration with others and the capacity to advocate for positions and ideas that I believed would serve the best interests of the organization.
