Award-winning journalist, creative director-copywriter and magazine editor, Lee Fleming has more than 20 years' experience in the editorial, marketing and advertising fields. She currently consults with small businesses and nonprofits about their communication needs, from speeches and annual reports to website architecture and marketing campaigns. Prior to resuming her communications consultancy, she directed the ABA Creative Services area, which she cofounded in 2000 to increase the quality of marketing communication materials and to save the association money otherwise allocated to outside marketing, design and advertising vendors. Ms. Fleming also negotiated all advocacy and identity advertising media buys for ABA, and from July 1999 until December 2007 was a speechwriter for ABA leaders. Before going to ABA, she was managing editor and then acting editor in chief of Landscape Architecture magazine, where she oversaw all editorial functions. Before LAM, she was senior editor at Museum & Arts and Garden Design; at M&A, her turnaround efforts were recognized when it won best in category for Arts& Literature at the national Magazineweek awards.Ms. Fleming's background also includes agency work, both as VP for Creative and senior copywriter, and as a contract copywriter for other ad agencies.
