Lee Frazier, a native of Enterprise, AL, has over three decades of experience in municipal government. He has also served as a radio and tv color analyst for the Samford University football team, returning to his alma mater in 2003 to take on this role after co-hosting a weekly talk show called "The Relationship Show" on WJLD. Frazier has held key roles in government such as City Clerk/ Treasurer of the City of Brighton, AL, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Birmingham, AL, and City Clerk of the City of Birmingham, AL, and has also served on various boards and agencies. He has held leadership positions such as President of the Brighton Community Development Corporation, Treasurer of the C.A.R.T.S. transportation system, President of Alabama Association of Municipal Clerks and Administrators, Jefferson County Clerks Association, Brighton Community Development Corporation and President of the AL Cooperative Extension System. Frazier is currently serving as City Clerk of the City of Birmingham, providing administrative support to the Mayor and Council as well as secretary to various boards and agencies of the city. He received his B.S. in Public Administration from Samford University’s Howard College of Arts and Science in 1993 and his JD in 2001 from Miles Law School in Fairfield, AL. He holds the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) certification and the Certified Elections/ Registration Administrator (CERA) certification. Frazier has received several awards, including the 2016 AL Municipal Clerk of the Year Award and the NAACP Outstanding African American Award. He also served as the host clerk for the International Institute of Municipal Clerk’s Conference in Birmingham, AL. Frazier is currently serving as Region III Director for the International Institute of Municipal Clerks providing support and assistance to clerks throughout the states of AL, FL, GA, SC and NC and has served on IIMC’s conference committee and as liaison to the Membership and Mentoring Committee. In addition, he currently presents at universities and colleges for clerks across the nation. He has presented for AL Association of Municipal Clerks & Administrators, University of AL College of Continuing Studies, Eastern Illinois University, BLOA/MFOCTA of SC, FACC, and at IIMC’s annual conference in Calgary, Alberta, CA in 2024. Recently sworn in as the first African American male VP of IIMC.
