Lee Gabor has been a member of National Speakers Association in the past. The focus of The Gabor Institute has been improving the educational system by providing staff development, workshops, and consulting services for administrators, teachers, parents, businesses, and government stakeholders. We emphasize: brain structure and function (learning differences between boys and girls, learning styles, teaching styles), effective curriculum, improving communication, establishing classroom organization to lower teacher stress, technology and gaming, and parent involvement. Our efforts have been through lobbying as well as presentations.

Named one of 51 "American Stars of Teaching" for 2006 by U.S. Department of Education (representing the 286,000 teachers in Texas); awarded 2006 "Texas Teacher of the Year" Runner up by Texas Computer Education Agency; named Runner up for 2006 "Service Beyond Self" award from The Dallas Rotary Club; named to National Network for Education Renewal's 2007 "Leaders for Teacher Preparing Schools" Cohort 2; named to Dallas ISD-UTA Urban Collaboration for Educational Leadership Cohort 5 2006-2007. Presentations include "Parents Are Educators, Too!" at Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association, "Best Practices in Teaching" at National Association for Equity in Education and Texas Magnet School Association, and various programs at individual campuses. Certifications include Principal K-12, Master Technology Teacher, and various grade levels and subject areas. Academic Coordinator for two years and classroom teacher 5th and 6th grades for four years.

A full-service talent agency, we booked individuals, groups, and celebrities as musicians, entertainers, speakers, and writers. Through the Academy, we taught the business and marketing aspects of being a professional performer, techniques in stage appearances and performances, and voice and music lessons. After 25 years, both the Agency and Academy were closed in order for Lee to concentrate on personal matters.

Wrote a weekly business and construction column, covered government meetings, political party news and events, wrote and designed a weekly Education Page that appeared on Saturdays and featured school news; interviewed various national and state politicians, including Robert Kennedy, Spiro Agnew, Bill Ruckelshaus, Birch Bayh, and many others; wrote a six-article series on the Indiana State Prison; also served as a general news reporter and served as a substitute on police and fire beat.; served as a stringer for United Press International.
