From empty nests to menopause, there is no shortage of opportunities to take a bad bounce in midlife. I’ve experienced all sorts of challenges in my own midlife, some catastrophic, but I was able to find small moments of laughter even through the pain. This helped me build the resilience needed to survive, and ultimately, thrive. A teacher now for over 20 years (oh my!), I instruct newcomers to the US on all aspects of the English language. I love to infuse a lot of humor into my classroom, which breaks down cultural barriers, and allows the students to relate to, and support, one another in their collective quest to master English.
