Lead external and internal communications efforts to help drive cancer care, treatment and education across the state and beyond. Build the brand of the Cancer Center as the leading provider of cancer care in the region on par with other NCI-Designated Cancer Centers. Establish thought leadership positions for Director and Deputy Director of LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center in order to highlight work being done in research and clinical work towards achieving NCI-Designation. Educate community leaders on criticality of NCI-Designation to the Gulf South. Develop strategic communications plan for nationally recognized Community Outreach and Engagement program built on parish engagement and customized interventions to reduce the cancer burden in Louisiana. Work closely with Community Outreach and Engagement office to develop education campaign in support of comprehensive cancer screening program. Work with LSU Foundation New Orleans to establish dedicated cancer fundraising structure and multi-year communications and outreach plan. Launched website, social media, and newsletter presence for Cancer Center. Partner with LSU Health New Orleans to highlight the work doctors are doing to advance cancer care and innovative research impacting Louisiana using proactive media outreach. Work closely with hospital partners to establish cohesive branding connecting the Cancer Center to hospitals within the system as flagship cancer hospitals.
