Responsible for the overall Information technology function. I am responsible for the development and implementation of all strategies related to technology, and leading the Information technology department through the planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring phases of the chosen strategies (ensuring end to end execution). I make sure that there is a significant focus on driving new and alternate technologies in order to improve service delivery and reduce costs across the business. A large part of my role involves stakeholder management where I have to effectively manage relationships with business units (as a business partner), as well as the regional and global teams (both on a technical and an executive level). Financial planning and control for the regional technology function is part of my daily function. The most enjoyable part of this role is guiding and leading the technical team on a day to day basis, overseeing their development and personal growth, where I encourage continuous learning, innovation and service excellence. We have created a team first culture where big egos are frowned upon. During my time as Head of IT, I have been fortunate enough to work with a diverse group of individuals who I am able to learn from which has led me to significant personal growth on my part (I have always believed that every experience is a learning experience and that we can all learn from everyone that we come into contact with).
