Lee John Kenny is a Head of Commercial at The British Mountaineering Council. These were the bada Student Developer Challenge (2011/2012) and the Android Student Developer Challenge (2012/2013). Lee's vast experience in events management were the only reason why both events were a runaway success! Lee managed the interfacing to all the universities who were involved in the challenge. In the first year of the challenge this was 10 universities, in the second year 8 universities. He would have to interface with all the students, manage student registrations, distribution of developments devices and ensuring the students met their targets that were expected of them, at different stages in the competition. This he achieved by maintaining a Student Developer Challenge website and using social media like Facebook and Twitter to maintain a constant dialogue with the students. I was amazed how he could remember everyones name at each university! On representing Samsung at each university, I was impressed with how well university was prepared and how smoothly the execution of the days activities went. Lee was always on hand to resolve any problem that arose, but also keep the spirits of all involved high. Lee's communications skills are top-notch and it was evident in his ability switch his communication style when necessary to be as effective as possible when dealing with either students, university lecturers or engineers from Samsung. The schedule for both challenges were tough and a lot of travelling was required. Lee, took this all in his stride and was always punctual at each venue and took command ensuring the needs of all involved were met. The work done on the challenge by Lee singularly, could have easily been the work of 5-7 people. This clearly shows his ability to take on large scale event projects and manage all the details. I personally was very proud to have been been involved in both of these events and working with Lee made it a memorable experience. It would be nice to work with Lee again in the future." and "I participated in the Samsung Student Developer Challenge 2013, Lee was the main organizer of the event that last six months, between universities from across the UK and finished with a grand final in London. Lee was great at running the competition, the communication between ourselves and lee was fantastic keeping us up to date on changes and assisting in any way possible with any issues that occurred.
