Katelyn & Co, LLC offers children's clothing accessories in retail outlets along the Wasatch Front in Utah. We also wholesale product to Japan and have a significant present on the Internet. Our customers enjoy the latest in styles and upscale clothing accessories for young children. My role has been to provide financial oversight, acquire the appropriate amount of financing to grow the business and build the appropriate metrics to measure growth.

Action Target is a government contractor which manufactures shooting ranges for police departments and military installations throughout the world. My responsibilities included traditional CFO duties involved in budgeting, accounting and other administration. I re-built the accounting systems from the ground up. More recently I secured a new bonding relationship for company projects and secured State approvals to finance a new manufacturing plant with a tax-free, municipal bond. Finally I was successful in re-capitalizing the company using a private equity sponsor which provided the capital to grow the business and advance to the next level.

This is an industry leading publisher of yellow pages directories with markets in the US and Canada. The company is a two time winner of the Utah "Top 100" award. As the CFO, I built a comprehensive 'open-book' system of budgeting and financial reporting for all departments; developed metrics to track organic growth; negotiated or assisted in 5 acquisitions and raised equity for a minority stake in the business used to fund growth.

Duncan Oil, Inc. is an oil & gas company but has considerable holdings in multiple businesses. I was primarily responsible for the income tax planning, research and compliance for all portfolio companies. In connection with this, I assisted in providing technical advice to structure over 20 entrepreneurial businesses in various industries including oil and gas, ranching, ski resort operations, winery investment, distribution, high tech and aircraft leasing.

At the time, KPMG was the second largest CPA firm in the world. I was responsible for tax planning, research, and compliance of various clients in several industries including oil and gas, real estate, auto retailing, manufacturing and ranching.
