Lee Junior is General Partner and IC Member of Expara Ventures, an early-stage VC fund based in Singapore with offices across 5 countries. Before joining Expara, Lee was Director of Singapore’s leading PE fund manager, Tembusu Partners; and the Founder of The Silver Lining Project, a not-for-profit incubation program focusing on the 'silver' (or elderly-related) Industry and growing ‘silver’ enterprises. Apart from Expara, Lee owns Hong Yu Trading, a family business of more than 50 years of history in cold chain logistics and was Interim CEO of MilkRun, a crowdsourcing logistic platform offering last mile delivery solutions, using A.I. optimisation. Before taking over Hong Yu, Lee served as the Group COO of The Ultimate Group of Companies, Singapore's leading homegrown wellness and beauty groups, comprising of 4 prominent spa brands, several hair treatment, medical-aesthetics and TCM clinics, targeting the premium market segment. In 2004, with the support of Singapore’s Economic Development Board and Jurong Town Council, Lee started ACE Nexus Pte Ltd; Singapore’s first fully privately-owned business incubator-cum-M&A house. Before that, Lee was Vice President of iAxil Pte Ltd, the venture acceleration arm of Ascendas Pte Ltd. Prior to joining Ascendas; Lee was with Suntec City’s Innovative Technology Initiative Team where he led the patenting of its Facilities Service Provider (FSP) business model and the conceptualisation and rollout of its cutting-edge technology initiatives.A former Crucible Member of the Action Community for Entrepreneurs (ACE), Singapore’s national entrepreneurship movement, Lee also served as a Committee Member on Singapore’s Entrepreneurship Review Committee (EnRC). In August 2013, Lee was appointed Honorary Deputy Consul to the Republic of Lithuania. He currently serves an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with INSEAD, and is an appointed Mentor of NUS Business School's MBA Mentorship Program. Apart from work, Lee is also very passionate about education and has accumulated more than a decade of experience in teaching and designing courses for full-time students, executives and adult-learners as an Adjunct Faculty, in various institutes of higher learning (IHLs); specialising in Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital, Social Innovation, Design Thinking and other business-related subjects. These IHLs include NUS Extension, NTU Technopreneurship Centre, Nanyang, Temasek, Ngee Ann and Republic Polytechnics. An Asia-Pacific Executive MBA graduate with NUS Business School, Lee served 10 years as a Board Member of its Alumni Association.
