I was responsible for reviewing and selecting artist applicants for the the residency programme. Every 6 weeks we would have 6 new artists live and work in our building, totalling in 24 artists across 8 months. I liaised, collaborated and supported these artists who were from across the world. Each group of artists would have two open studios events in the building, finishing with a group exhibition. I was also responsible for documenting the programme, creating assets that would be used for social networking purposes.

During my year abroad practicing art in Valencia, Spain I worked as an English teacher for a private school Royal Kensington Academy in my second semester. This allowed me to grow even more as a person and open my heart up to passing knowledge and helping others confidence grow. I taught two classes, 3-5 years and 11-14 years, each varying in age and capability. Main responsibilities were: Lesson planning, writing reports, creating a natural and fluent conversation through sharing genuine interest in the activities and lives of my students.

In charge of creating attractive visual displays in BHS retail outlet Watford. Using my creativity to enhance the aesthetic appeal of window displays, walkways, counters and in-store displays.My main objective was to increase sales and buyer attention, capitalising on the human tendency to ‘window-shop’. Displays were frequently changed to promote new product launches and reflect festive or seasonal themes, such as Christmas, spring or summer.I was using my art based technical skill and understanding of composition to create sketches of visual displays based on the requirements set by the BHS store management department. Once these preliminary designs were approved, I would be finalising the design and creating detailed floor plans. Following this design process, I was sourcing the necessary props, materials and accessories required to bring the designs to life.I was responsible for actively setting up the displays, but other times I was supervising the staff tasked with turning your creative designs into a reality. I was working to ensure the uniformity of displays across multiple store locations. Throughout all these processes, I frequently liaised with other retail professionals, such as buyers, marketing executives and retail merchandisers, to make sure each and every window has the right visual impact.

• I worked primarily within the Learning sector, which involved me running the social media sites, blogging and working to increase readership and widespread exposure of important cultural events and seminars taking place throughout the year• BFI collaborated with Lambeth School, my role was to shoot the project and produce a short film which would was uploaded onto the South Bank Cultural website• Working closely with a younger group of individuals fuelled my motivation to articulate my ideas in an understandable way and develop my communication skills• Later in the role, I worked with different members of each department, gaining extensive knowledge on the production, promotional, marketing and sales sectors• Last summer I was invited to return to work with film making groups using the film set and documenting the process through a time lapse film of the build and some photography on set
