I am a Teaching Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University, where I have been contributing to the academic community since August 2012. Each semester I teach 4 courses, determining the syllabus for the course, selecting textbooks, collaborating with colleagues on common assessments, and designing and implementing continuous improvement plans. I am committed to excellence in education and this goes beyond just teaching; e.g., I have previously secured an internal grant to develop new courses for the mathematics program, ensuring that our curriculum remains dynamic and relevant. My efforts have been recognized and I received the university award for early achievement in teaching in 2018.I have served in several leadership roles within the department. As the Director of Undergraduate Studies, I maintained the degree programs, oversaw the advising of mathematics majors, handled requests for major/minor status, evaluated transfer credits, and participated in orientation and recruitment events. On the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee I participated in weekly meetings, voted on policy matters, and selected students to receive awards. I was elected as chair for the 2016-2017 academic year and the additional responsibilities included setting the agenda and ensuring an orderly flow of debate. My research interests lie in mathematical analysis, and I have published seven peer-reviewed articles both independently and collaboratively. I have presenting my findings at local and international conferences as both a contributor and an invited speaker.
