I was 14 before I met anyone else who looked like me. That meeting led to my co-founding, NOAH – The National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, a U.S.-based 501(c)3. It is imperative to me that others have access to accurate information about living with this genetic condition and the opportunity to connect and share experiences. My work with NOAH over the last 40 years has enriched my life personally and professionally. I even got to meet Oprah!I am a woman of words (who knows how to use a spreadsheet). Whether it’s working in marketing and communications for a technology company, or fundraising and grant writing in the non-profit sector, I am a self-starter best known for my organization and my writing skills. I create timelines and work to ensure everyone is on task. I’m the person people come to when they need words. I draft my own text or incorporate others’ ideas into engaging prose for print or social media. Connecting people and building community is my superpower. I love to meet new people and learn about who they are and what they want. I have a knack for keeping track of details, so if you are looking for a specialist in X, I probably know someone.I want to be a valued contributor to a team that is making a difference. You have big ideas? Let’s collaborate to bring them to fruition. I’m looking for a part-time position (15-25 hours per week) working remote or hybrid. Flexibility is key for both of us, daily repetition is my nemesis. I hate filing. Fun fact: Family and friends call me the human version of the Shazam app. I’m really good with lyrics, song titles, and artists for ’80s pop & rock, ’90s country, whatever my kids were listening to in the early aughts, and obscure ’70s bubble gum music. I am the last remaining active co-founder. I was 14 before I met anyone else with albinism. It is important to me for others to have the opportunity to connect and share experiences. Fundraising 2022 to Present Working on fundraising initiatives that engage the albinism community, spread awareness, and ensure NOAH’s financial stability. Grant Writing 2022 - Present Working through the grant writing process including managing timelines, creating logic models, researching opportunities drafting LOIs, and completing grant applications.Marketing Communications 1990 – Present Created articles, press releases, public service announcements, and social media content. Organizational Development 2020 Served on the selection committee for full-time paid Executive Director, drafted job description and position advertisements, reviewed resumes, participated in online interviews.Conference Planning – As National Conference Chair from 2000 to 2006, I organized four biennial national conferences, each with increasingly larger attendance.Site Selection – Identified suitable properties to support a conference with considerable space needs and cost-sensitive audience. Program Development – Worked closely with volunteers and an operations contractor to create educational and support programs focused on different aspects of living with albinism. Event Execution – Coordinated with hotel staff for AV, and food & beverage to maximize efficiency and minimize expenditures.Website 1996 to 2002 With a partner, I created the first iteration of the NOAH website at www.albinism.org. I was responsible for the content and HMTL coding. We launched an online community (uncommon at the time). I created community standards, monitored interactions, and seeded discussions. Board of Directors 1982 - 2002 As an early member of the BOD, my focus was working in advocacy for youth with albinism. -

I used this information to write a monthly update for our local paper. • Successfully planned and executed a fundraising campaign to enlist the help of local businesses (e.g. New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Dunkin' Donuts and Red Roof Inn) to purchase Class B uniform t-shirts for the pack. The goal was $650, we raised more than $1,200.• Collaborated with Committee Chair, Cubmaster and Den leaders to organize, promote and execute traditional Cub Scout Events (Pinewood Derby), and community service events.

Collected information from 5-8 troop leaders on the girls' activities, badges earned and community service projects. Some leaders provided completed updates, others submitted a list that I used to construct a compelling narrative. • Drafted introductory text to inform Girl Scouts and other readers of upcoming activities offered at the local, council and national levels. • Photographed events. Edited photos and submitted to local paper and Council for inclusion in statewide publications.
