Despite my visual impairment, I empower companies and individuals to communicate their vision through the written word and call to action. Life is difficult but I chose to embrace life it all its goodness through my other gifts. In 2002, I was the first visually impaired to graduate with a BA in English Language and Literature (Open University Degree Programme UK) of the Sim Open University Centre. I continued to arm myself with more professional training like acquiring a Diploma in Leadership and people Management, culminating in attaining the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance early this year.Career wise, I started as a telephone operator in a MNC and worked my way up—senior tele sales consultant, Financial Services Consultant with AIA, a Public relations post, workshop trainer and facilitator at Dialogue in the Dark, Singapore, virtual admin with a few SMEs, actor, creative producer, writer, motivation speaker and more.Currently I am the general manager of Collective Perspectives that aim to professionalise the career of disabled artists.I produced a short film “Perspectives”—the first disabled led arts production in SouthEast Asia which garnered rave reviews. This film travels with me packaged with my motivation talks which enhances the value of the program and to correct misconceptions of Persons with Disabilities in our community.DARE - Disabled Artist Rebuilding Earth, the latest project I produced brought together artists from Singapore, Thailand, Shanghai and USA to present a one-hour online event where disabled artist came together to commemorate International Day for Persons with Disability on 3.Dec. This will be on on-going festival to continue in 2023.Today, my mission is to empower companies and individuals to communicate their vision to their stakeholders through the written word and call to action. After all, an educated mind cannot be enslaved.
