- Managing a small team to plan and execute the movement of RAF freight by air road and sea. Acting as an end to end project manager to prepare freight, documentation and allocate to various transport modes. Meeting the ship at destination port, bridging the gap between the RAF and civilian agencies. - Chairing meetings within the host nation with port authority, customs agents, Defence Attaché and foreign military to facilitate to smooth transition of RAF freight in and out of the port. At this stage I would often make amendments to the contract when costs can be saved.- Provide SME advice to customers wishing to move large amounts of freight worldwide. Giving direction on transport mode, and how to put freight through the Defence Supply Chain.- Planning all aspects of each task. This would include, accommodation and transport to and from Air head. Handle finances for the team and hotel costs. Engage with host nation and ensure suitable aircraft handling equipment is available on arrival. Consult FCO website and MOD for pertinent information on location to ensure the team were well briefed and safe. - Leading movements teams to safely load and unload all variants of Royal Air Force and Civillian transport aircraft. (C-17A, C130J, KC30, A400M)- Preparing and building all manner of freight, including dangerous air cargo in accordance with IATA dangerous goods regulations. This includes UN Class 1 explosives).- Managing Military and Civillian staff within the air terminal, to ensure the smooth transition of passengers through all terminal processes. - Planning aircraft loads and producing accurate Trim sheets (distribution of cargo/ passengers, to the most effective weight and balance for flight)- employed in the air terminal often dealing with VIP's, high ranking officials and various foreign forces. In this role I have to demonstrate professionalism at all times whilst maintaining an awareness of of cultural sensitivities.
